Booking Terms

Last updated: October 12, 2026 · Version 2026-10-12

One page, the same for every booking. The host agrees with one checkbox when booking; the restaurant accepts by confirming. The restaurant's deposit, minimum and house rules come from its MedPlate listing — no separate contract for each event.

  1. Who's who. "Host" means the person booking for their employer. "Restaurant" means the venue. MedPlate LLC ("MedPlate") arranges the booking. The dinner itself is between the Host and the Restaurant.
  2. The booking. The confirmation shows the date, time, room, party size, menu style and the estimated food & beverage minimum. The booking is final once the Restaurant accepts it.
  3. Deposit and cancellation. The deposit amount and cancellation window shown at booking apply. Where the Restaurant takes card deposits, the deposit is a refundable hold on the Host's corporate or personal card, placed in the Restaurant's own payment account; MedPlate never holds the money. The hold is released after the dinner, or if the booking is cancelled in time, declined or not answered, and charged only if the Host cancels inside the window or the party doesn't show. Where the Restaurant doesn't take card deposits, no card is taken: the Host agrees to the Restaurant's cancellation policy at booking, MedPlate records that agreement, and the Restaurant may bill the Host (for their employer) the stated late-cancel or no-show fee directly. Any deposit or fee goes to the Restaurant.
  4. House rules. The Restaurant's house rules are shown on the booking and apply. These can cover the final headcount deadline, corkage, outside desserts and decor.
  5. The bill. The Host pays the Restaurant directly at the dinner, including tax, gratuity and any charges disclosed in the listing. If spend falls short of the minimum, the Restaurant may add the difference, as disclosed.
  6. Changes & cancellations. The Host can change the party size or cancel in MedPlate. Cancelling before the window closes is free.
  7. Responsibility. Each party is responsible for its own acts and those of its staff and guests. No one signs a personal guarantee or indemnity. MedPlate doesn't prepare food or run the venue, and its liability is limited to the fees it received for the booking.
  8. Card security. When a card is taken, Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1) takes and stores the card details. Neither MedPlate nor the Restaurant sees full card numbers.
  9. Compliance. The Host follows their employer's meal and transparency policies. MedPlate shows spend information but doesn't make compliance decisions.
  10. Record. MedPlate records each acceptance with the time, account and IP address. Both parties can get a copy.
